Travelling by train
- Modern EC trains of the Deutsche Bahn (DB) run regularly from the railway hub in Munich to Jenbach in about 1 hour and 25 minutes. From Jenbach, Lake Achensee is just a short bus ride away. If you stay overnight in the Achensee region, you can take the public bus from there to Lake Achensee free of charge. Your accommodation booking confirmation is valid as a ticket.
- Take the trains of the Deutsche Bahn (DB) to the train station Tegernsee and continue your journey by taxi or bus via Kreuth to Lake Achensee (ca. 35 km).

ÖBB door to door luggage service
The ÖBB offers door to door luggage service, which delivers your luggage to your accommodation at Lake Achensee in advance. Available with a valid DB or ÖBB ticket. (Please note that the DB luggage service is only available within Germany).
- The Austrian Federal Railway (ÖBB) offers a regular train service to Jenbach from the federal capital Vienna (4 hours) and from Linz (3 hours). From Jenbach, Lake Achensee is just a short bus ride away. If you stay overnight in the Achensee region, you can take the public bus from there to Lake Achensee free of charge. Your accommodation booking confirmation is valid as a ticket.
- Some accommodations in the Achensee region offer their guests a convenient pick-up and drop-off service from and to Jenbach train station. Just ask your accommodation provider before your arrival.
ÖBB door to door luggage service
The ÖBB offers door to door luggage service shipping your baggage ahead to your accommodation at Lake Achensee. ÖBB Rail & Drive offers car hire at the train station which is a very convenient way to reach your destination. - The Swiss Federal Railway (SBB) runs a regular train service from Zurich to Jenbach (4 hours) several times per day. From Jenbach, Lake Achensee is just a short bus ride away. If you stay overnight in the Achensee region, you can take the public bus from there to Lake Achensee free of charge. Your accommodation booking confirmation is valid as a ticket. Travelling by car
- Toll-free journey via the Achenpass: From Munich, take the motorway and exit at Holzkirchen, continue via Tegernsee and Achenpass or via Bad Tölz to the national border. Follow the road to Achenkirch, continue for about 17km to Pertisau to the start and finish area (Fischergut).
- Motorway A12 (toll sticker required): Take the motorway A12 (toll sticker required), exit at Wiesing/Achensee and follow the Achensee federal road B181 until you reach Maurach after 7 kilometres. From there, you turn off to Pertisau to the start or finish area (Fischergut).
Parking
You will find free parking for participants conveniently located near the finish area. Just follow the signs to the designated parking areas. The Pertisau fire brigade will also be there to help direct you, so please follow their guidance and any event signage. Paid parking areas are clearly marked.
The last mile by bus or taxi
- Barrier-free regional bus: If you are staying overnight at Lake Achensee and have already received the guest card before arrival or can show a booking confirmation from your accommodation, you can use the Regiobus from Jenbach to Lake Achensee free of charge. The climate ticket can also be used for the bus journey. The bus stop closest to the start and finish area is Pertisau Information.
- Taxi Kröll: Make your journey less stressful by taking a taxi for the last mile. Taxi Kröll offers comfortable and convenient transfers from Jenbach train station to Lake Achensee.
- Four Seasons Travel: Take advantage of a shuttle service for the last mile to Lake Achensee. Four Seasons Travel offers daily, frequent shuttle transportation from and to the train station.
Travelling by plane
- Airport Innsbruck (INN): The airport Innsbruck is a 45-minute drive from the Achensee region. Direct flights are available from Vienna and Frankfurt.
- Airport Munich (MUC): The airport Munich is a two-hour drive from the Achensee region, serving as an international aviation hub for many large cities.
- Airport Salzburg (SZG): The airport Salzburg is a 1.5-hour drive from the Achensee region and offers flights between various major cities in Germany, Switzerland, France, the UK, Italy and the Netherlands.

Transfer on site
As a Relay Run participant, you will receive a free ticket to use one of the Achenseeschifffahrt ships for the return journey between the start and finish areas. This ticket is valid until 14.00 on race day and will be issued when you collect your race number. The timetable can be found at www.achenseeschifffahrt.at.
